Blue Pear Day Nursery & Preschool Ltd is owned and managed by sisters Natasha and Daniella who established the nursery in 2017. We have dedicated deputy managers at each site and fully trained staff teams.
We are passionate about providing safe, quality care and education to every child. Having worked with children and in early years settings for years we have been able to use our knowledge and experience to build settings that are safe, nurturing and educational for children. We strive to maintain the highest standards in all aspects of care and learning, working in partnership with parents and carers.
With continued reinvestment into our settings and staff, children are provided with the best possible environments and learning opportunities. All staff go through strict recruitment procedures and practitioners hold relevant childcare qualifications. They are trained in safeguarding, child protection, health and safety, paediatric first aid and more. Practitioners update their training regularly and are DBS checked annually.
Our Penge and Anerley settings offer three different children's rooms - Babies, Toddlers and Preschool which all have CCTV in operation. Each setting has a planned Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum which is delivered by practitioners and overseen by EYFS teacher, Natasha. Within these rooms children enjoy structured free play and access to equipment and resources designed for their age and stage of development.
Children are given the opportunity to discover their own interests and explore their abilities through a range of activity choices. We recognise that every child is unique and has their own voice; we encourage children to communicate and express their interests, which helps us to plan our activities and curriculum.

Safeguarding the children in our care is paramount to our team at Blue Pear Day Nursery and preschool. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our children and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Our attitudes and values towards the well-being and development of our children is promoted at every opportunity. We believe that every child has a right to learn in a supportive, caring and safe environment which includes the right to protection from all types of abuse. Staff are trained to be vigilant for signs of any child in distress and are confident sharing information to relevant team members or professionals in order to avert and alleviate any such problems.
Safeguarding children is about ensuring every child is safe from harm - safe from people who could abuse, safe from discrimination or harassment – and that we all feel safe in our environment.Parents and carers are welcome to read the Policy on request. Sometimes we may need to share information and work in partnership with other agencies when there are concerns about a child’s welfare. We will ensure that our concerns about our children are discussed with his/her parents/carers first unless we have reason to believe that such a move would be contrary to the child’s welfare.
If a member of staff is concerned about a child’s welfare, they will record their concern with any observations or conversation heard, and report to a manager/DSL as soon as possible/the same day.If a member of staff has concerns which relate to the actions or behaviour of another member of staff (which could suggest that she/he is unsuitable to work with children) then this will be reported to one of the DSLs in confidence, who will refer and seek advice from Bromley LADO who will consider what action to take.
